If you've been around Motherhood Untamed for a while, you probably already know Angela as our owner and lead IBCLC. Well... she's added another tool to her toolbox! 🛠️✨ As of April 2026, she’s also a Licensed Massage Therapist 🤲🏻
After years of study (just a 650 hour program, NBD) including an intensive hands on training at the start of 2026, we are so excited to launch the next level of care here at Motherhood Untamed…bodywork for baby and mom!
Angela’s approach to infant bodywork is gentle, baby-led, and focused on helping little ones feel more comfortable in their bodies. Using a mix of rhythmic movement, gentle massage and craniosacral techniques, she can help your little one relax in their body & in turn feel and feed better.
Angela is passionate about walking families through how they can move their babies at home. During your session with her, she’ll teach and guide you how to move your babe - it’s a deep belief around here that increasing parents’ confidence is our main goal. This started in lactation & carries through to our bodywork services.
And since she’s already spending her day helping families feed better, this gives her another way to support the whole baby (and the whole family).
So, what exactly is infant bodywork, who might benefit from it, and what can you expect during a session?
Let's get into it. 👇
So... what is infant bodywork?
Infant bodywork uses gentle, baby-specific techniques to support comfortable movement, relaxation, and body awareness. In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist in Colorado, Angela has trained in Infant Craniosacral and Rhythmic Movement to improve feeding and comfort. Paired with her deep knowledge of cranial nerves, infant feeding mechanics and the human body as a whole…magic happens. 🪄
(No, your baby isn't going to be put through an intense workout, most sleep or become more relaxed than you’ve maybe ever seen you babe during our session.)
Sessions are gentle and guided by your baby's cues. If baby says, “absolutely not,” we listen. Because all “no”s matter.
You can breastfeed or hold your little during our session while Angela works with them, too ✨
Babies spend a LOT of time curled up before they’re born. Then suddenly they’re expected to stretch, move, eat, sleep, and figure out this whole “being a human” thing.
Sometimes you may notice your baby seems a little tense, prefers looking one direction, doesn't love certain positions, or just seems uncomfortable in their body.
Enter: infant bodywork. 👶✨
What can infant bodywork help with?
Every baby is different, but parents may seek bodywork when their baby:
🤍 Seems tense or uncomfortable
👀 Strongly prefers looking one direction
🤸 Doesn't love certain positions
👶 Has a hard time settling
🍼 Is having feeding challenges
💫 Seems uncomfortable with movement
The goal isn't to “fix” your baby (because your baby isn't broken ❤️). It's about supporting their body and helping them feel more comfortable.
Babies who benefit from bodywork:
“colicky” babies who are just uncomfortable
babies who’ve been diagnosed with ties
babies who had a hard birth
refluxy, spitty, gassy little ones
babies who don’t poop daily
archy and stiff babies
and every baby between ✨
Why did an IBCLC become a massage therapist, too?
Feeding is a whole-body activity. Angela has always understood this; for years it’s what’s set Motherhood Untamed apart in lactation care.
Your baby is coordinating their tongue, jaw, head, neck, breathing, and body positioning every time they eat.
So if feeding isn't going smoothly, it's crucial to look at the whole picture, not just the latch.
An IBCLC can help assess feeding, while infant bodywork may be another, deeper layer of supporting feeding & comfort.
Think teamwork, not either/or. 🤝 Because teamwork makes the dream work 🤩 And sometimes, you just want another set of eyes. 👀
Parenting a newborn comes with approximately one million & five questions.
Is this normal?
Why does she only look left?
Why does he hate tummy time?
Why is feeding suddenly so hard when it was okay?!
Why’d it get worse after a tongue tie release?!
You don't have to figure everything out by yourself.
We work with a broad network of amazing professionals from chiropractors, PTs, OTs, SLPs and more - and connecting you to next level support when needed is always going to happen.
Infant bodywork can be a wonderful piece of your support team, because we’re better together ✨
Because sometimes baby just needs a little support... and sometimes Mom does too. 🫶
And because we LOVE science, what does the evidence say? 🔬
Research on infant massage and body-based therapies is promising, but like all things, it's not a magic wand.
A systematic review of 16 studies found benefits of infant massage, including effects on things like pain, bilirubin levels, and weight gain, but researchers noted that more high-quality research is needed (welcome to most healing arts research).
Humans need touch. Healing touch, nervous system regulation and support that helps you understand how to help your babe at home? We’ve got you.
So we're not here to tell you that bodywork will magically fix reflux, feeding, sleep, or anything else.
We're here to support your baby where they are. 💛
Hey moms, can we share a secret?Angela has been praised for magic hands when it comes to babies … but the real secret is that it doesn’t stop there 💆🏼♀️
Mom Restore can be added to your lactation or infant body work visit. (no free standing mom appointments at this time) Focusing on your head, neck and shoulders Angela will help you release the tension from feeding and holding that babe and restore some of the “oh, there you are” vibes of your true self. New motherhood (no matter 1st babe or 6th) is full of beautiful things…but it also comes with a huge demand on YOU. Of course your babe is with you. Angela can babywear and work, you can hold your squish or they can take a cozy nap along side us.
Hope to see you on her table soon, we know you won’t regret it.
Insurance can be used for lactation services only. HSA/FSA, cash or credit/debit payment accepted for bodywork services.
