Google vs Lactation Consult
I love Google. I want that to be clear. And there is a great wealth of info out there, but why should people go for a consult with a lactation pro like me over the free stuff on Google? Why just a tongue (and/or lip) tie release isn’t likely to save your breastfeeding journey.
It all begins with an idea.
Lip- and tongue-ties can cause poor latch, painful nursing, low weight gain, and weak milk transfer, and later affect speech, teeth, and jaw. Effective care needs proper assessment, a tailored plan, follow-up with lactation support and feeding strategies, and, if needed, a coordinated release and therapy to ensure lasting improvement.
