Meet Sarah Markel

Through early intervention, Sarah provides in-home therapy for families facing a wide range of developmental issues, including infants transitioning home from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as part of Larimer County’s Infant Support Team. She has helped families with infant feeding issues, picky eating, potty training, sleep, tantrums, play skills, sibling dynamics – and, of course, speech and language development. This work, as well as becoming a parent herself, made her realize the importance of parenting education, particularly in those early months and years. After discovering Respectful Parenting, she knew she had found the answer.

Sarah has taken the knowledge from her years of working in families’ homes in addition to her training through the RIE®/Respectful Parenting organization to create her parenting preparation course, Welcoming Your Baby and her Parent-Infant Play Groups.

Welcoming Your Baby - a parenting preparation course which covers baby basics (from gear to sleep and feeding) as well as learning the key principles of the Respectful Parenting philosophy with practical tips for making parenting easy(er) from day one.

Parent-Infant Play Groups - (~3 months - 2 years) weekly play groups where your infant/toddler is free to explore a beautiful and interesting play space with other children while you observe, connect with other parents, and discuss important parenting topics. Weekly topics of discussion include: creating a play space at home, boundaries, self-care, tantrums, play development, sleep and much more.

Our community is lucky to have Sarah in it supporting parents! She is also on my resources page for the playgroup because finding things to do with your babies can feel tricky!
