FAQ

  • What is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant?

IBCLCs are the top credential for lactation care. Not only are we highly educated and have passed an extensive board exam; we have thousands of hours working hands on with moms and babies. International Board Certified Lactation Consultants function and contribute as members of the maternal-child health team. They provide care in a variety of settings, while making appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community support resources.

  • What makes Angela Das different?

As not only an IBCLC and Certified New Parent Educator, I have been breastfeeding since 2016 (and still counting!) and have been supporting families in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado through their infant feeding and postpartum journeys for years. Supporting you where you need it, in the manner you need it is important to me. Evidence based practices combined with years of real world experience make for the perfect recipe for support. Oh, and there is also bad dancing, mom jokes and sometimes singing.

  • What breastfeeding education do you offer?

Breastfeeding education is offered both in person locally and everywhere virtually. My classes are a unique combination of up to date evidence based curriculum paired with an abundance of real life experience. We will learn the science of milk and all the tips and tricks for a successful journey, no matter how your birth story unfolds. Empower yourself with education today!

  • Do you come to me or do I go to you?

Motherhood Untamed’s services are provided either at your home, at my Fort Collins home office or virtually. Whatever serves you and your family’s needs best is how we will connect.

  • Do you offer package rates or discounts?

Packages of 3 and 5 can be purchased at a discounted rate. Ask me directly about these!

  • Is my lactation consult covered by insurance?

Every insurance plan is different; I partner with The Lactation Network (click to apply your coverage) and accept many insurances directly through them. Regardless of insurance coverage, lactation visits are eligible to be paid under your HSA/FSA spending account and I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your carrier.

  • Can my older kids be with me during our sessions?

One of the benefits of working with Motherhood Untamed is the flexibility and family-first environment. Need to have your toddler with you? Great! Supporting families is the main goal, and that means taking the stress of “What do I do with sibling for this appointment?!” away.

  • How many sessions do most people need?

There is no set answer here. Some people need one session to get on a path and feel ready to take life on from there. Some have higher needs and find multiple sessions fit their needs best.

  • What is New Parent Education?

New parents want to provide the best for their new family; but what does that look like? New Parent education offers a wide range of knowledge from what the first two weeks post partum might be like to how to set up sleep routines for your older baby. New Parent education can be tailored to your specific needs and desires for your family or provided in a group setting such as a formal class in the community.
